Are you on The Path? Are you preparing kids for success in the world outside of school?
We create passionate, encouraging, inspirational, and growth-oriented culture change that empowers students and staff to succeed.
Our A-Team is here to guide you in creating that brings out the best in everyone. With our support, teachers, administrators, students, and schools can all thrive in a positive environment
and growth culture.
School culture refers to the beliefs, values, norms, and customs that guide student behavior and attitudes towards learning, teachers and administrators alike. It shapes how people interact with one another, performance expectations are set, and success is celebrated. A positive school culture is marked by a sense of belongingness, shared values, and an emphasis on growth and well-being for all members of its community.
Remember, cultivating a positive school culture is not just a goal but a powerful tool for enhancing student and staff well-being. The benefits are clear: higher student achievement, greater teacher satisfaction and retention, improved school-community relations, and enhanced social and emotional development for students. It's a win-win for everyone involved.

The Which Bird Are You?: Curriculum for Teaching Personality in the Classroom provides everything they need to lead interactive with 8—to 12-year-old children about their personality styles. The Teacher’s Guide and Supplemental Materials are filled with exercises that bring the styles to life as children learn about themselves and how to interact with people of all styles.
Picture how parents would raise that child if they genuinely understood their child’s behavior and needs. What kind of impact would teachers and coaches have if they knew how to guide that child through the most important life lessons?
For decades, adults have seen the power of taking behavioral assessments to learn about themselves. But these powerful tools haven’t been available to children…until now.
The Which Bird Are You? Kids DISC Profile includes three sections: one for the child, one for the child’s parents, and one for the child’s teachers and coaches.
The profile report begins with an explanation of the four bird styles. Children, parents, and teachers will learn about the traits, tendencies, and needs of Eagles, Parrots, Doves, and Owls. They will gain insight into what each style focuses on, listens for, and dislikes. They will discover how each style takes risks, seeks to be rewarded, and responds to stressful or challenging situations. The report includes a graph representing the child’s style and an action planning guide for children, parents, and teachers/coaches.
Children will learn how they act at school and deal with schoolwork. They will discover how they interact with friends and family and approach sports and extracurricular activities. They will gain valuable tips on interacting with people of all four styles.
Parents will gain a deeper understanding of what children of each style need and how each style acts when they become adults. Personalized content includes a parenting overview of how their child would like to be treated based on their bird style. Parents will gain helpful tips for keeping their children safe, helping them build stronger relationships, and being successful in school.
Teachers and coaches will discover how to work with all four styles. Then, they will gain specific strategies for helping the child learn, gain confidence, improve skills, and cultivate strong relationships.
"Student leaders become future world leaders. Understanding people’s communication and interaction styles is a critical skill for college students that will greatly benefit them throughout their lives. Taking Flight! and your training programs should be welcome at every higher-ed institution!"

Invite our A-Team to give a powerful keynote presentation at your next school assembly, and we will help you implement this curriculum in school, home rooms, before/after school clubs, or as a school culture initiative.
For the past few years, we have made it our mission to help youth acquire the fundamental life skills and personal development philosophies necessary for success in school and in life. One of the best tools I have found for achieving this is the slight edge philosophy, which is taught in the book Success for Teens—Real Teens Talk About Using the Slight Edge.
This excellent book, and from more than 40 years of teaching its philosophy, has positively influenced hundreds of thousands of lives, encouraging people to do those simple, little disciplines that can change their lives for the better forever.
The fundamentals taught in this book are NOT taught in high school or college. When applied, this is the secret to a successful life. These pages provide the time-tested principles that will allow you to excel in all areas of your life—your health, finances, career, personal relationships, and family life. You’ll learn essential skills such as goal-setting, time management, and self-motivation to help you reach new levels of achievement. And, best of all, you have the benefit of youth to get the most from these life-changing principles.
The foundation for the slight edge philosophy comes down to this: You can create any life you want, no matter how difficult it may seem, by understanding how small, positive steps make a difference over time. It’s the things you do every day that don’t even seem to matter... that do matter most. In this book, you’ll learn that through the eight slight edge principles that teach you:
There’s No Such Thing As Failure Habits Are Powerful
You’re Always Learning
You Can Make Your
Dreams Come True
I know that once you read these pages, you will understand that little things matter, your choices are essential, and you can make dreams come true.

The Taking Flight with DISC training program is a unique and high-energy training experience where individuals learn about themselves and others. This is not your typical DISC session. We have written the book on thing a fresh and innovative approach that will pique your interest in DISC styles and reinvented DISC training.
The Taking Flight with DISC program breathes new life into the tried and true DISC model by linking the DISC styles to four birds. First introduced by Merrick Rosenberg in his book Taking Flight!, the birds add colorful energy and help create a memorable session for participants. By linking Eagles to the Dominant (D) style, Parrots to the Interactive (I) style, Doves to the Supportive (S) style, and Owls to the Conscientious (C) style, people remember the styles like never before. And if people are going to apply new wisdom, they have to remember it! A year from now, when people ask questions like, “What does the D stand for?” they will still recall that the eagle’s personality is direct, decisive, daring, and driven.
This high-energy training program makes self-awareness simple and intuitive, enabling people to quickly remember the styles and apply new skills. The result is that participants can flex their style to communicate more effectively and respectfully with the people in their lives.
The Taking Flight with DISC training program is based on the tried-and-true DISC personality styles model as represented by Eagles (the Dominant D style), Parrots (the Interactive I style), Doves (the Supportive S style), and Owls (the Conscientious C style). Instead of using letters that have to be memorized, the birds are intuitive. For example, think of an Eagle – confidence, directness, and a bottom-line orientation are self-evident. Now, think of the letter D. Obviously, this does not convey these traits (or any traits for that matter). The birds' intuitive nature and “stickiness” allow yles and instantly remember them over the long connect with stterm.
Before the training program, participants complete the online Taking Flight with DISC Profile. The personalized report is distributed during the session and helps individuals understand their natural tendencies, needs, strengths, and potential blind spots. The report offers potent insights into dealing with other styles and how people can better manage potentially tricky situations.
While most DISC training programs focus on teaching people the DISC model, they fail to create stronger relationships or drive better results. Instead of focusing on memorizing letters and models, the Taking Flight with DISC program promotes new skill development by linking the styles to essential core skills. Since neuroscience states at wire together fire, the Taking Flight with DISC session wires DISC to existing knowledge, allowing the styles to trigger right when needed.
Participants will learn how to utilize the four styles when communicating and listening to others, providing feedback, taking risks, coping with stress, dealing with change, managing time, working in teams, and more. By building on existing knowledge, Take Flight Learning’s brain-friendly approach makes new DISC insights immediately accessible when needed, empowering you to apply your new skills in real-life situations.
The Taking Flight with DISC training program is filled with laughter and learning as engaging activities allow participants to experience the DISC styles in action. Through interactive exercises, participants discover how often they impose their style on others and how the simple shift to treating people how they need to be treated will strengthen relationships and increase effectiveness, keeping you engaged and excited about the learning process.
"The Taking Flight with DISC training has enhanced our communication, productivity, and, most importantly, culture. Take Flight Learning has contributed to the success of our organization, and Taking Flight! is required reading for current and new team members. Thank you for positively impacting our culture."

Emotional intelligence, often called EI or EQ, refers to the ability to perceive, recognize, evaluate, understand, and control our emotions. EQ allows us to choose how we think, feel, and act. Emotional Intelligence will enable us to manage our own emotions and positively influence the feelings of others.

While IQ is relatively stable throughout an individual’s adult life, EQ can be boosted through increased awareness and practice. IQ is often the ticket for admission to get schooling for a job. However, EQ determines how successful someone will be at that job.
Cumulated data from 40 studies looked at the personal traits and business success of more than 65,000 entrepreneurs. The studies considered EQ and cognitive performance, as well as measures of business success like revenue/profit, company growth, and company size. Researchers found that general mental ability explained 11 percent of entrepreneurial success, while Emotional Intelligence explained 89 percent. The data is precise: EQ is a powerful predictor and driver of success.
Emotional intelligence captures the ability to perceive, understand, evaluate, and manage emotions.
The Taking Flight with EQ Profile combines two assessments into one report. First, individuals complete the Taking Flight Profile. (If they’ve already finished it, there’s no need to retake it.) Then, they complete a series of questions to assess their level of Emotional Intelligence. The report integrates the results to explain how someone with their style will likely understand, manage, and leverage their emotions.
The report includes a graph of the individual’s bird style (graph 3 of the Taking Flight Profile) and a series of scores that measure their level of Emotional Intelligence. Individuals will receive a comprehensive score that captures their overall EQ. They also receive scores for each of the four components of EQ, including Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Relationship Management. In addition, they get scores for each of the Talents that make up the four Components.
For each EQ Component, individuals understand what that Component looks like with high and low EQ based on their specific style. For example, someone with a Parrot/Dove style will discover how a Parrot/Dove looks with both high and low Self-Awareness. By including individuals' high and low aspects, we can see what they will be like in Component, an evolved and unevolved state.
Finally, we know that coaches would indeed personalize coaching questions to help turn insights gained in the report into an improvement plan. We bring a coach’s mindset to action planning through dynamic action planning.
Each report contains action planning questions selected based on the individual’s style. So, while an Eagle may be asked questions to help them increase emotional clarity and empathy, a Dove may be asked questions to help them boost confidence and increase influence.
