John Wooden was an American basketball coach and player. Nicknamed the "Wizard of Westwood," he won Ten NCAA National Championships in 12 years as head coach for the UCLA Bruins, including a record seven in a row. 


No other team has won more than four in a row in Division I college men's or women's basketball. Within this period, his teams won an NCAA men's basketball record 88 consecutive games.

Youth Sports Teams


How to coach youth team according to Coach John Wooden.


Are you the director of a sports club program that wants to distinguish the value of your organization from all the rest?

In 2001, at age 91, Wooden gave a TED Talk entitled “The Difference Between Winning and Succeeding.”


The coach had three rules for his team:

  1. Never be late. “I believe starting on time and closing on time.”
  2. No profanity. “One word of profanity, and you are out of here for the day. If I see it in a game, you’ll come out and sit on the bench.”
  3. Never criticize a teammate. It’s not the job of the player to criticize a teammate.


Of course, we can all learn many tools and life lessons from the greatest coach of all time.

We offer individual sessions or our ten-week program for competitive players that can be done virtually or in person. 


Mental game coaching teaches athletes to be more confident, improve their focus, stay composed under pressure, practice more efficiently, and develop better service and pregame routines.


How do I Know if I would Benefit From Mental Coaching?


As a tennis, pickleball, or golfer, if you notice that you perform well in practice but freeze up in competition, struggle to cope with the pressure of competition, become easily distracted, or have difficulty with performance anxiety or fear of failure, these are all good indications that you would benefit from mental coaching to improve your mental toughness on the court 

or golf course. 


Mental training can help you improve your confidence, maintain greater composure, and have keener concentration. By coping with distractions, you can enter the zone faster and stay there longer.


Do We Work With Young Athletes?


We generally work with tennis, pickleball, and golfers who are 10 years old and up to identify the areas holding back their performance. Our training will also help parents learn mental game skills, practice routines, and communication skills to positively impact their child’s 

sport performance. 


Sometimes, we will offer coaching for athletes eight and up for juniors playing nationals or travel ball.
